The 2025 NaSTA (National Student Television Association) Awards, which took place at Southampton Solent University betweem 4-6 April, proved to be a landmark event for student broadcasters across the UK.
Tell’s involvement in the NaSTA Awards marked the start of a strategic and exciting collaboration, as part of their year long sponsorship as NaSTA Industry Partner, offering both recognition and support to the talented individuals and teams who contributed to student television across the country.
Supporting emerging talent
By stepping up as the main sponsor of the 2025 NaSTA Awards, Tell continued its commitment to fostering emerging talent and driving the future of the broadcasting industry and played a major role at the event which was attended by over 500 students.
Conference & Expo
During the conference and expo Tell showcased its latest technological innovations to attendees including, industry leaders, students, and professionals. The booth, which presented the companies new brand identity, attracted attention and footfall whilst giving demonstrations of next-generation production technology, giving students a glimpse into the future of broadcasting.
A particularly memorable moment during the evening was when Tell’s Managing Director Jack Nicklin gave a talk on sports broadcasting to over 200 students. The MD’s insightful speech, which was attended by many aspiring broadcasters, provided a detailed look at how technology was revolutionising the sports broadcasting industry and what students could expect in terms of career opportunities. This was a highlight for those keen on pursuing careers in sports media, offering a unique perspective from an industry leader.
Awards
The NaSTA Awards themselves have become a cornerstone of student broadcasting, celebrating the creativity, dedication, and hard work of student television producers, presenters, editors, and technicians. The awards featured categories ranging from Best Drama and Best Comedy to Best News Programme and Best Technical Innovation.
Nicklin had the honour of presenting two key awards during the ceremony: the Sports Award and the Broadcaster of the Year Award.
