In a 2019 article by Forbes magazine, Curt Steinhorst addresses the concept of ‘company values’, also known as ‘core values’. That is, the fundamental beliefs and priorities that a company holds, usually pinned down in the early days of a business, perhaps even before the company name. The article, however, calls into question whether ‘a company’s values are a reflection of reality, or a contrived attempt to reinforce a facade?’ and we quickly realised that we had not been as transparent about what drives us as we should have been.
Our company values play a huge role in determining the work we choose to do and the people we work with. As Steinhorst states in his article “core values are not a corporate declaration, but rather a community standard”, which is why each of our team are committed to putting innovation, accessibility, efficiency, approachability and integrity at the forefront of their practice. Whilst many companies list their values in order of importance, putting particular emphasis on specific elements, we have chosen to commit to all five values equally.
First off, we prioritise innovation in our practice. At Tell, innovation is key to our company values as it helps us continue to grow our technological skills creatively. We are always working to create innovative solutions for clients, keeping us and them a step ahead. For example, we are currently working on virtual and hybrid theatre events, bringing high-tech theatre production to a range of creatives.
Accessibility is at the heart of everything we do at Tell, and in the age of webinars and zoom calls, it is vital that not one person is left behind. Tell values the ability to work remotely with agencies, clients and staff no matter their geographical location. Recently we were able to link up our studio with someone's home office, making it accessible to film content with our work from home team members. We work hard to ensure financial accessibility, collaborating with clients to offer the best services for their budget. We also offer a range of adaptations to our services for disabled individuals.
We value efficiency highly, getting our projects turned around quickly, painlessly, and skillfully. We are able to organise production dates and crewing far in advance to offer our clients and staff stability and security in their projects. We work tirelessly to keep our systems and processes as efficient as possible to make sure that workflows are streamlined.
We pride ourselves at Tell as being friendly and easy to talk to. Approachability is essential when helping both clients and agencies to feel comfortable while delivering our services. We love to work with young production companies and agencies to assist their business development with honest, compassionate advice.
Through everything we always guarantee our integrity. We care a lot about our clients and our freelancers, prioritising fair and ethical treatment. Our integrity is demonstrated in our commitment to a moral approach of production, such as in our commitment to working sustainably. As previously mentioned, following our integrity principle, we at Tell want to make sure that our services are accessible to companies of all sizes at every level of production.
These values are the footprint we leave in the production industry. Not only are they the standard to which we hold ourselves, but they are a commitment to our clients. A promise of the outstanding service you will receive when working with us.
