What are your resolutions?

For some, New Year’s resolutions are a great way to set annual goals and push yourself to new heights. For others they can perpetuate guilty feelings when you don't quite fulfill the promises you made to yourself in January. Everyone has a different opinion, so I asked Tell’s team if this year they’ll be partaking in some of their own New Year’s resolutions and this is what they had to say…

ERIN
H: Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?
E: My New Year’s resolution is to stop spending money on food, I have a takeaway addiction!
E: I live next to a Nandos.
E: Since moving into my new house in September I haven't done one big food shop. I’ve just been going to Sainsburys Local for little bits or getting a takeaway.
E: It's appalling.

JOEY
H: Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?
J: Erm, not really! If I’m to change, I’m more of a ‘there’s no day like today’ person - in the words of RENT!

WATSON
H: Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?
W: Visit 10 countries.

TOM T
H: Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?
T: To try and be a bit more active past the January period…Whether it's cycling, long walks, or pushing myself to do some hill sprints so I can get my times down per Km (I’m slow!). Time permitting, I’d also like to get back into Thai boxing and rugby…but I’m guilty of working a little too much.

ASHLEY
H: Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?
A: I wanna try and cook more.
A: Less time scrolling on social media.
A: Work/camera wise I want to take more photos and make more short videos, travel for work, and work on more ‘broadcast'.

JESS
H: Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?
J: I'm not a big believer in New Years resolutions because I always forget them, so this year I'm thinking on a small scale. I wanna see how many labels I can stick to the bottom of Kat's keyboard in the office without her noticing (I made it to 2 in 2020).
J: We’re a big superstitious family though, and if you wash on New Year's Day you wash a family member away. That does not answer your question but it's a fun little extra.

TOM E
H: Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?
T: To be more proactive.
H: In what sense?
T: Get more done. Talk less.

JULIANA
H: Do you have any New Year's resolutions?
J: Get my Canadian drivers licence!
J: and learn how to roller skate.

KIRILL
H: Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?
K: New Year’s resolution wise I've quit smoking and I'm gonna try to take musical practice more seriously in 2022!

DECLAN
H: Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?
D: Yeah! My main one is just ensuring I make/have time for things that are important to me.

Here at Tell we believe in creating goals that are ambitious and exciting but realistic and attainable. Setting yourself up for success by planning measurable steps to change, is so important in both your professional and personal life. Whether you make those changes on January 1st, March 25th or July 7th it doesn't matter! Following 2021, with COVID-19 rearing its ugly head, we have to be kind to ourselves if we perhaps didn't achieve everything we wanted to, or had a little less motivation than usual. 2022 is a second chance to achieve, to evolve and to leave your mark.
