This week we introduce you to one of Tell’s newer members of the team - Jessica, or Jessy! Based in Rio, Jessy works remotely with Tell and has been brought on to head our equipment rental scheme.
Tell us a bit about your journey into the technical production industry? How did you get to where you are now?
“I'm a graduate of Strategic Management and I first started working during college in International Trade and Logistics. I then spent a couple of years in a company that was in the field for over 30 years and this taught me so much. From there I was hired by another logistics company, which was really a school for EVERYTHING else I was lacking. After a couple of months I started my Masters in Logistics - which I'll be finishing this year - and when Tell decided it was time to grow its inventory and procedures considering all of our operations worldwide. I join the team, gladly, and that's where I am now!”
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received in life?
“My grandma used to say ‘Amigo é amigo, colega é colega’ which is Portuguese for ‘Friends are FRIENDS, and colleagues are something else’. I think this is very true.”
What is it that you do with/for Tell?
“I'm implementing the software we hired to optimise the use of our kits and services. I'm also growing our warehouse to make sure we are making the most of our items through monitoring their whereabouts and the bookings that we have available for internal or rental jobs.”
What is your favourite part of the job?
“The best part of the job for me is the fact that 70% of the time, we're learning how to do new stuff, which is great because it gives you independency and authority to deal with daily problems, while helping you develop lots of new skills. I really like what I do. It’s a job that requires a lot of responsibility so it feels important. The second best part is the possibility of developing an interest-project, that is pretty much Tell keeping us motivated by giving us the chance to do whatever we would like if it fits the industry somehow!! This is really awesome.”
What personal interests/passions do you have and do they ever intersect with the work you do with Tell?
“I like the idea of being able to apply my own knowledge to several different fields. Coming here proves to me that I really can work in whatever industry I want. There’s no need accept boring! Besides the logistics, that fits what I chose to do for a living perfectly, I love the idea of start developing an NFT arm with Tell that works both with Tech and Arts departments. Its really a fun place to be! It sort of blew my mind when I realised all the possibilities we have here.”
Show us your fave meme!
“Loca the Pug, for sure.”
What celebrity lookalike do you get compared to?
“None at all (!!!) but Cindy Crawford has the same mole as me.”
Jessy has brought so much of her personality to her role with Tell and that is something we welcome wholeheartedly. The logistical side of the company is well on its way to being the most efficient and well-organised it can be, and that’s all thanks to Jessy’s tenacious and committed approach to her role.
